Recognizing the incredible importance of keeping families, children, and college students safe and after consulting with Bishop Pates, it was decided that the diocese would cancel this summer’s Totus Tuus program. See communication from the diocese here.
Catholic Youth Conference (Update)
Incoming High School Freshmen through Graduating Seniors
Update from Craig Mazur I received an email last night confirming that we were changed to Main Campus 5 on July 17-19. However, May 15 is my last day to add/drop spots. I must request that registration forms and deposits be submitted by May 10 so I have enough time to make adjustments and send in our payment. Here is the form: link Registrations can be brought to my house at: 7424 Prairieside Dr. Plainfield, IL 60586 The Liability Platform link remains the same It still shows the June date, but that will be changed. With your registration, please go online and complete this: https://liability.steubenville.org/user/app/90eed6 Please note the following: |
- I have adjusted the payment schedule as follows:
- $75.00 due with registration by May 10
- $75.00 due by June 15
- $75.00 due by July 13
- If you have already completed the registration form, please redo the new form with the correct dates.
- I am still planning the Jewelry Sale fundraiser. As of today, it is scheduled for the weekend of May 16-17. I know school is canceled, so if the stay-at-home order is still in place, I will reschedule this for June. I’m unsure about the pasta dinner. It may be too soon to host an event serving a meal in our hall.
- Steubenville’s refund policy remains in place:
- If any of our Main Campus conferences (Adult or Youth), Steubenville San Diego, or 2:42 are cancelled, as mandated by the government or decided upon by Franciscan University, any registered participant can do one of two things:
- Get a full refund
- Put 2020 registration fee toward a 2021 conference
- If a participant decides not to come because of COVID-19 when a conference has not been cancelled:
- Get a full refund
- Put 2020 registration fee toward a 2021 conference
- If any of our Main Campus conferences (Adult or Youth), Steubenville San Diego, or 2:42 are cancelled, as mandated by the government or decided upon by Franciscan University, any registered participant can do one of two things:
I also confirmed that, as of now, the ministry team for MC5 is as posted on their website: |

Signs of Hope
After Sunday’s Mass Fr. Karl told us the tree in the pop-up Easter card he received gave him hope and lifted his spirits.
psst…see this clip if you want to see it again…
What gives you hope? Spring flowers, budding trees, teddy bears, ice cream? Let us know!
Send us a picture or video clip of something that gives you and your family hope. We’ll put everyone’s pictures into a video that will appear before an upcoming Mass.

Carole Angarola
I am sorry to have to announce the death of a long time member of our parish Carole Angarola, RIP.
Carole had been involved in many Parish activities and throughout her illness continued to pick up and wash and iron altar linens.
Because of current restrictions her funeral will be private and hopefully in the near future there will be a memorial Mass.
Please keep her family in your prayers.
FR Karl
OBITUARY
We lost our Auntie Carole Larson Angarola
Countless knew her as a dear friend but many of them will readily tell you that Carole was an even dearer aunt to her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was a diehard Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, and attending these and other outings with her friends and family was one of her favorite past times. Even more so Carole loved watching her nieces and nephews participate in baseball, basketball, football, band and competitive dance. Carole always did everything she could to attend a family event, even as it became more difficult for her to do so.
She dedicated 38 years of her life working at Alexian Brothers in various nursing and management roles. She retired to a Del Webb community in Romeoville, where she established even more friendships. Carole spent her retirement years traveling, playing bocce ball and volunteering at a local hospice organization.
After her four year battle with ovarian cancer Carole passed away peacefully at home on April 15. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends. She is survived by her sisters Judy Steffens and Joan Larson Buccieri . A celebration of her life will be planned for later this year.
