OBITUARY

Carol Jean Wallin (nee Oldani) of Plainfield passed away at the age of 76 on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet, IL. Carol was born on December 25, 1943, the daughter of the late John and Gladys (nee Gronemann) Oldani. She was born and raised in Joliet, IL and was a graduate of Providence High School, Class of 1961. She enjoyed a long career as a Payroll Accountant at Joyce Beverage, retiring in 2005 after over 25 years of dedicated service.

Carol was an active parishioner at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a spiritual woman who led by example. Carol was a staple at the Sunday 8:30 a.m. Mass, where she would be a greeter, welcoming all in attendance. Never one with idle hands, she enjoyed knitting, playing Bunco with her friends, reading a good book, and traveling with her family. Time spent with her family is what she cherished the most. She shaped the lives of her children through her love and guidance. She had a kind heart and gentle nature that will always be remembered.

Carol is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne Wallin; her children, Deborah (Ronald) Vogt, Ronald (Whitney Parker) Wallin, Garold Wallin, and Cheryl Burke; grandchildren, Ashley (Andrew) Cervi, Patricia (fiancé Joe Singraber) Vogt, Benjamin (fiancé Madelyn Baier) Wallin, Morgan (fiancé Jacob Kadich) Vogt, and Patrick Wallin; three great-grandchildren, Graclyn, Rowan, and Maddox Cervi; nieces and nephews, Daniel (Norma) Oldani, Douglas (Tammy) Oldani, Amy (Steven) Ousley, and David (Lisa) Oldani. Several cousins and friends also survive. She is preceded by her parents and her brother, Jack Oldani.

At this time the Memorial Gathering for Carol Jean Wallin is pending at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 250 Arbeiter Rd., Joliet, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Jack Oldani Scholarship Fund, c/o Knights of Columbus, PO Box 356, Orange, TX 77631, would be appreciated. For more information, please call the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home at 815-741-5500 or visit her Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com

Parish Dinner Dance cancelled

Our Dinner Dance planned for November has been cancelled.

We will be in touch with all those who had purchased tickets. We have not rescheduled because of the virus.

We plan on having a raffle later in the Fall for the gift baskets that would have been given away at the dance.

Thanks to all who did such great work in preparation.

Thank you for your understanding
