Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, During the month of May we honor Mary under her various titles. On the south wall of the Church we have a shrine to the Mother of God and the image of our Lady of Guadalupe. I have been gathering in my office other images of Mary approved by the church an image of our Lady of the Americas ,Our Lady of Aparecida (from Brazil) Our Lady of Knock (Ireland) . My hope is to gather images from Lourdes, Fatima, Czestochowa, and many others so to reflect the mix of nationalities that make up our Parish. Then I would hope to place them all on that South wall as a wall of Mary. I would place a binder with a history of every image in it so that people could learn how that particular devotion to Mary came about. Every culture that has had a catholic tradition has an image of Mary that it is devoted to. I would hope that during the month of May I will be able to begin to place some of these images on that wall. My only condition is that it must be an image from a shrine that has received the official approval of the church. During the month of May we will have a visit from the Holy Family icon, and the May crowning of our Blessed Mother and I would hope that in your homes and in your travels you would try to say the rosary. The mysteries of the rosary provide us with beautiful opportunity to reflect on the story of our salvation and to remember that Mary was with Jesus at all the key moments of His life. She was there at His birth, when He performed His first miracle and she was with Him on the way of the cross and in His death on the cross. As we pray the rosary we pray that she may be with us on our journey of faith so that we may be found worthy of the promises of Christ. Thank you for your support of our first dinner dance. There will be more in the next Bulletin about the dance and all the Raffles. Let us Journey together in faith. Mary Mother of Christians pray for us. Fr Karl

Dear Brothers and Sisters, On the weekend of April 30th/ May 1st we will celebrate the First Communions of around forty children from the parish. There will be a number receiving at all the Masses. At Baptism their parents promised to bring them up in the faith and to be the first teachers of the faith. Their parents have worked with them in the Family Centered Faith Formation and communion classes to prepare them for this day. As we planned the ceremonies I have asked that the parents and family come forward together to present their child for First Communion and to receive the sacrament with their child. Any teaching program is only as good as the example the child receives from their parents.. Their parents presence and active participation in the program and at Mass shows by example their commitment to their faith. Thank you all for your active participation. The same weekend the Knights of Columbus are sponsoring the Holy Family prayer program with a visit to this parish of an icon of the Holy Family. It is an opportunity for the parish to reflect on what family means and the example that the Holy Family gives to us in our own Family life. The Icon will be displayed in the sanctuary and there will be opportunity to honor the holy family and to ask their blessing as families present their children to receive the body and blood of the Lord for the first time. The Holy Family prayer program is the 17th Marian prayer Program sponsored by the Knights. The first program honored Mary under her Title as Lady of Guadalupe in 1979. Since then Mary has been honored under her tile of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Our lady of Czestochowa, and many other titles. It is fitting as we honor Mary as part of the Holy Family that we realize that it was her yes that gave us our Savior who is present with us at all times in the Eucharist. He told his disciples that He would be with them till the end of time. Let our Journey continue. Christ be with me Christ before me Christ behind me. Pray for me as I pray for you, Fr Karl
